Alexis Claude Maurice, commonly known as “Maurice” (born June 6, 1998), hails from Noisy-le-Grand, France. He is a professional French football player who plays as a forward. A product of Lorient’s youth academy, he performed exceptionally well in the 2018–19 Ligue 2 season, scoring 14 goals. This caught the attention of Arsenal; however, since Arsenal failed to meet Lorient’s transfer fee demands, he joined Nice in August 2019. In the second half of the 2020–21 season, he became a key player for the team. In the summer of 2021, he suffered a serious injury; after returning from injury, he was rarely used by the manager and his form remained inconsistent. During the 2022–23 season, Maurice was loaned to Lens. Despite starting in only six out of 22 league matches, he managed to score 5 goals and provide 3 assists, helping the team qualify for the Champions League. Nonetheless, Lens opted not to sign him permanently. Ahead of the 2023–24 season, Maurice suffered another injury; he received very few playing opportunities at Nice and eventually left the club at the end of the season. On August 30, 2024, Maurice joined Augsburg as a free agent, signing a three-year contract. At Augsburg, he regained his form.
